“I first saw Edge in April of 2020. At the time, Covid had disrupted the Beach Volleyball World Tour schedule and it looked like I was going to spend an extended stint in Sydney training/in lockdown. I saw this period as an opportunity to rework my foundations in strength and conditioning. I had spent 12 months through 2018 and 2019 in the US college system but saw little to no benefit in terms of physical development and injury prevention. Edge was recommended by some of the best Beach Volleyball players in Australia, and on first meeting his philosophies on movement patterning, individually tailored training and sport-specific physical development were exactly what I was looking for.
I worked with Edge for close to 12 months through 2020 and early 2021. During my time with Edge I put on 5kgs of body mass, increased my vertical jump by 10cm, and became increasingly strong and confident in movement patterns that have set the foundations for further physical developments since. As an athlete who prior to working with Edge struggled with lower back issues, our technical work on hinge patterning has really set the foundation for my strength gains over the last 24 months. The outcomes I have seen on the court speak for themselves, during my 12 months with Edge I did not miss a session on the sand due to injury, and went from being a part-time development athlete prospect in the Australian Beach Volleyball system, to getting a full time offer with the Senior Men’s Beach Volleyball program in Adelaide, where I now reside.
I can confidently say, my time with Edge was the most valuable physical development period I have had in my playing career so far.
